Ramblings

Christmas Eves Eve closes darkly,
not a star amounting in the sky,
for the sounds I listen,
for the cries,
yes the cries beneath the pale moonlight.

The trees in the windows,
the lights about the absent leaves
the ornaments they glisten,
so won't you listen to me,
As I tell you I love you
I wont leave the thing I've got
I'm happy in the morning,
Oh and I'm oh so happy in the night

So don't cry, my sweetheart, when we are apart,
I've set the soldiers upon the ramparts,
they are keeping watch, both night and day,
your protection, I'll still be anyway.

For another night we shall be miles apart,
but with you, I'll be beside you through all your fights
and journeys we lead. my arms are for you,
 a strong and firm support.

I wake up to your smiles in my dreams,
im your eyes, I float away
brings me back to that rainy summer day
the rain drops keep falling away.

As the Winter Winds...

Now that December is halfway done, I wake up to the morning sun,
the skies cry out in shades of grey, here it comes another winters day
the snow delays the falling on the streets, where revolutionaries had foregone speech
as cannons still make their presence made, on cobblestones the hearts still beat, beat.
Winters deathly cold we'll see what is in store.
Boston's ghosts are knocking, knocking about my door.

Seasons

All of those moments in my life, were but seasons for me to find.
First the Summer, then the Fall the Winter with its damned, snow, come on spring and grow,
grow, what we wish for and what we know, the heavens above and the hell below, give me faith and opportune dreams, give me love, grow me everything.

Oh my darling, darling dear, what made it so clear,
oh the cars we have to stear,
all the songs and shooting stars and prayers,
oh they are what have lead us here

Summer nights out in the rain, what we wish for is all the same, long lost feelings and broken dreams, we sew them together at the seams.
You get wet, here have my umbrella, here are my arms, is what I tell her

Oh my darling, darling dear, what made it so clear,
oh the cars we have to steer,
all the songs and shooting stars and prayers,
oh they are what have lead us here

the fall comes with the changing of colours,
yet where is the change in my heart?
The leaves fall with the gentle gust of a breeze
we walk the concrete jungle praising the Lord for all of these.

Oh my darling, darling dear, what made it so clear,
oh the cars we have to stear,
all the songs and shooting stars and prayers,
oh they are what have lead us here

Snow, Snow and millions of city lights,
the parties and all the little fights,
my heart continues, it marches on, till the springtime it wont be long...it wont be long.

"I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me."

Contemplation, reflection and prayer are the truest forms of medicine as is well attested through the ages.

Let there be no purpose in friendship save the deepening of the spirit.

-Kahlil Gibran

"we are all like sand particles on a beach, there are billions of us. The tourists come and step all over us, some of us at different times. all we need is time to let the foot roll off us. This is one of the best spiritual tips which contains 2 virtues, patience as the head of the virtues for with patience follows all of the virtues and understanding of Christ's love, mercy and compassion."

Bishop Joseph's Quote of the Day:
We do not always see things the way they really are, especially in our own lives. Only when we look back after many years do we see the joys in the things we take for granted now. My beloved, I ask all of you to take the time each day to think of your blessings. Thank God for the things
you have right now, and appreciate them.
Your Father in Christ,+ Bishop JOSEPH'

"If your truest friends are those who are willing to sacrifice in a loving manner for, let there be no need to distress lest you trap yourself in the undertow of grief and distress. Always be accessible, so that in a time of need of a true, loving friend, you will always have joy in helping and and being helped, a willingness of spirit to help to achieve good and knowing that they would feel the same. Do not submit to laziness in this or anything in life for the deeper a habit holds you begins to progress and leads to the soft life. This does not benefit anyone or anything on the face of the Earth. So see to it that you are upright, always being thoughtful of your neighbors struggles, lest you be a hypocrite in speaking vain words when you have just as many struggles to attend to at the present moment."

I am Adam. I am a gastronomer a Truth seeker an Artist and a Musician

This blog is a split blog between a passion for  food and a deep desire for truth in Jesus and Random tidbits of art.

Who is God? What am I? What is the World? What is the virtuous life?

These are common questions that every human who has experienced pain, pleasure and any experience in life has asked.

How do I know I am not made out of carbon and will become some new carbon material.
What makes us Human, what makes us logical rational beings able to be "good" or "evil," to cause "joy" or "sorrow?"

How do we know what ultimate "good" is from which all of our actions are based?

Are we interested in transient "goods" of the earth which bring us pleasure for a little while then are gone, or are we interested in obtaining excellence of character and helping others to obtain their greatness?
I was once at a Martin Luther King Jr. Service in Geneva, NY and one speaker said something that will always stick in my head. He said "If you don't use what you got to help others, man you just a fool!"
Another quote to help attain happiness and peace i have found is from Bob Marley's son Zion Train. It goes "Don't gain the World and loose your soul, wisdom is worth more than silver and gold."
